CURRENT AFFAIRS

1. The Indian Military Academy (IMA) will hold the Passing out Parade (PoP) for the 146 Regular Course and 129 Technical Graduate Course on Saturday, June 13 in Dehradun. This year’s first passing out parade will be broadcasted live across the country on the Indian Army's Youtube channel - ADGPI Indian Army from 6 am onwards.


2. Central Railways launches robotic 'Captain Arjun' for screening of passengers for COVID-19 and surveillance in Pune

Amid a surge in coronavirus cases during the 'Unlock 1' phase, the Union health ministry on Friday issued guidelines on "COVID-appropriate behaviour" to be followed at restaurants, hotels, religious places, shopping malls and offices in a pictorial format to emphasise on precautions such as staggering of visitors and allowing only asymptomatic people in such premises.


4. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a fresh round of consultation with chief ministers next week as the country gradually emerges out of the coronavirus lockdown

8. Amulya Leone, a 21 year old student who raised pro Pakistan slogans during anti CAA rally in the city on Feb 20. Court grants compulsory bail to Amulya as police failed to submit chargesheet even after almost 4 months after arrest.


9. Amulya was arrested and sent to judicial custody on Feb 20. It is almost four months since she was being lodged in Central Prison of Parappana Agrahara.  

Amulya Leone had raised pro Pakistan slogans repeatedly at a rally in the city organized by Asaduddin Owaisi against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

16 . India's total COVID-19 tally on Friday stands at 2,97,535 of which 1,41,842 are active.8,498 people have died thus far while 1,41,842 have recovered


INTERNATIONAL CURRENT AFFAIRS 

  

1. Under Operation Samudra Setu, INS Shardul has brought back 233 stranded Indian nationals, who were earlier evacuated from Bandar Abbas port in Iran


2.  Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday reviewed India's overall military preparedness in eastern Ladakh and several other sensitive areas along the Line of Actual Control in Sikkim, Uttarakhand and Arunachal Pradesh even as commanders of the Indian and Chinese armies held another round of talks to end the current standoff


3. The Indian and Chinese armies are locked in an over five-week standoff in Pangong Tso, Galwan Valley, Demchok and Daulat Beg Oldie in eastern Ladakh.


4. The two sides have deployed additional troops along the Line of Actual Control, the de-facto Sino-India border, in North Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Arunachal Pradesh in the last few days


5. Vande Bharat Mission: Air India to operate 10 additional flights between India and USA. These flights will be operated between June 20 and July 3 to bring back Indians stranded in America. Bookings for the same will open on June 13 from 6 pm onwards at the Air India website. 

 

6. The world is about to witness its first solar eclipse of 2020 on June 21. When it's a total eclipse, the disk of the Sun is fully obscured by the Moon, however, in partial and annular eclipses, only part of the Sun is obscured. This one is going to be an annular eclipse.

1. India's new education policy will have sports as part of the curriculum and not as an extra-curricular activity; Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju said.

 

2. The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI), on Friday, asked country's shooters to stay away from an 'unauthorised' online league, stating that disciplinary action will be taken against the marksmen who compete in the tournament


3. India might not have to tour Australia and play their matches in front of empty stands later this year after Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison on Friday said sports stadiums capable of seating 40,000 people will be allowed to host crowds of up to 10,000 from next month, in further relaxation of coronavirus  served India.
