1. Today a five-judge Constitution bench led by Justice N V Ramana is set to start hearing pleas challenging the Centre's decision to abrogate Article 370, which granted special status to the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir
2. Centre revoked Article 370 on August 5 and bifurcated the region into two union territories - Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. The changes were passed by the Parliament in the form of Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019 on August 6.
3. Supreme Court verdict on review of SC/ST Act order today:
The Supreme Court is scheduled to pronounce on Tuesday the verdict on the Centre's plea for review of its 2018 judgment which had virtually diluted provisions of arrest under the SC/ST Act.

1. Pakistan has decided to invite former prime minister Manmohan Singh to attend the inaugural ceremony of the landmark Kartarpur Corridor in November, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said.
2. Pakistan is scheduled to open the Kartarpur Corridor for Indian Sikh pilgrims on November 9, days ahead of the 550th birth anniversary of Sikhism founder Baba Guru Nanak on November 12.
3. The corridor will connect Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur in Pakistan with Dera Baba Nanak shrine in Gurdaspur district of Punjab and facilitate visa-free movement of Indian pilgrims, who will only have to obtain a permit to visit the revered Kartarpur Sahib
4. Ministry of External Affairs S Jaishankar on Monday met US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in Washington. This was the fourth meeting between Jaishankar and Pompeo in the last four months
