✅ AR Rahman appointed as Brand Ambassador of the Sikkim government

▪️Sikkim Government has appointed renowned music composer AR Rahman as Brand Ambassador of the State for a year. In his new role, he will promote and project Himalayan state’s achievements nationally and globally.

▪️Earlier Rahman was made state’s Brand Ambassador of tourism and business.

▪️Sikkim, with its natural and pristine beauty, has over last two decades emerged as world famous eco-tourism destination.

▪️It also has attained distinct identity of being first fully organic farming state of India.

▪️AR Rahman (full name Allah-Rakha Rahman) is one of the most globally popular Indian music icons. 

▪️His work is well known and renowned for inter mixing eastern classical music with electronic music and traditional orchestral arrangements.

▪️He has won multiple international awards including 2 Academy Awards (famously known as Oscars), 2 Grammy Awards, BAFTA Award and Golden Globe Award. In 2010, he was conferred country’s third highest civilian honour Padma Bhushan.
