1. Central government departments asked to include “transgender” as a separate category of gender for recruitment in civil services and other posts

5. An encounter broke out on Tuesday evening between security forces and terrorists in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir. The incident took place in Melhora area of Zainapora village where terrorists fired on Jammu and Kashmir Police, 55 Rashtriya Rifles and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

The Delhi Police on Tuesday booked Jamia Millia Islamia students Meeran Haider and Safoora Zargar under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, or UAPA, in a case related to communal violence in North East Delhi over the Citizenship Amendment Act in February, PTI reported. They also booked former Jawaharlal Nehru University student Umar Khalid under the Act.

15. Five new Ministers inducted in Madhya Pradesh cabinet expansion.  Narottam Mishra, Tulsi Silavat, Kamal Patel, Govind Singh Rajput and Meena Singh were sworn in as ministers on Tuesday. Senior leader Shivraj Singh was working alone since taking oath as Chief Minister in the state on March 23 and his cabinet was sworn in after about a month on Tuesday.

Four days after the horrific mob lynching incident in Maharashtra's Palghar district, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Tuesday issued a notice to the state's Director General of Police (DGP) seeking a detailed report. The Commission has observed that the incident is apparently indicative of 'negligence of public servants.' It has sought a detailed report within 4 weeks including the action taken against culprits and relief granted to next of the kin of the deceased persons.

1.  The second batch of stranded Bangladeshi citizens arrived in Bangladesh from India on Tuesday. The 169 Bangladeshi citizens arrived at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at Dhaka by a US-Bangla flight in the afternoon from Chennai.

1. Asian Games gold-winning boxer Dingko Singh will be brought Delhi on April 25 by the Boxing Federation of India (BFI) to resume his treatment for liver cancer after he was forced to miss a scheduled radiation therapy session due to the ongoing coronavirus-forced lockdown.

2. Indian batsman K.L. Rahul, along with his brand Gully, has donated a lot of his cricket memorabilia, including his 2019 World cup bat, for auction. All the proceeds from the auction will go to the 'Aware Foundation'.
