 About the Missile

It is an interceptor missile that destroys or jams satellites in space.

Two types of A-SATs:

1. Kinetic A-SATs, like ballistic missiles.

2. Non-Kinetic: Which include frequency jamming, blinding lasers or cyber-attacks.

➡️ India’s Test of A-SAT Missile

1) India successfully conducted  (A-SAT) missile test from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Island launch complex (Odisha).

2) Developed by the DRDO under Mission Shakti.

3) It defend India’s space assets.

India became the fourth country -after USA, Russia, and China.

4) The A-SAT technology has a ‘hit to kill’ feature .
