 2007 - Irish writer Annie Enright is presented the Booker Prize for her novel 'The Gathering'.
 2008 - The Monopoly and Restricted Trade Commission orders an investigation into a coalition of private air lanes, Kingfishers and Jet Airways.
 2009 - The Maldives, located in the Indian Ocean, held the world's first cabinet meeting underwater and tried to warn all nations of the danger of global warming.
