Officers
(a) Field Marshal : Ashoka Emblem over a Crossed Sword and Baton in a lotus blossom
wreath.
(b) General : Crossed Sword and Baton with Star and Ashoka Emblem above.
(c)  Lieutenant General: Crossed Sword and Baton with Ashoka Emblem above.
(d) Major General : Crossed Sword and Baton with Star above.
(e)  Brigadier : Three Stars wornin a triangle with Ashoka Emblem above.
(f) Colonel : Two Stars and Ashoka Emblem above.
(g)  Lieutenant Colonel: One Star And Ashoka Emblem above.
(h)  Major : Ashoka Emblem.
[0)] Captain : Three Stars In One line.
(k) Lieutenant Two Stars in one line


2 JCOs. The badges of ranks for corresponding JCO ranks will have a braid band of three strands
of braid, i.e. "crimson, yellow, crimson” affixed below all badges of rank and above shoulder titles, if worn.
Their badges are as under:-
(a)  Subedar Major - Ashoka Emblem.
(b) Subedar - Two Stars In one line.
(c) Naib Subedar - One Star.



3. Other Ranks. The Non-Commissioned ranks of Indian Army are authorised to wear Chevrons as
per the Regiment/ Corps pattern. The Chevron stripes will be stitched 11-12 cm below the shoulder strap
(depending upon the sleeve length) as under:-
(a)  CcmH - Three Stripes and an Ashoka.
(b)  Havildar - Three Stripes.
(c)  Naik- Two Stripes.
(d)  Lance Naik- One Stripe.
