1. India successfully launched weather observation satellite Cartosat 2 Series and 29 other spacecraft. Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) successfully placed these satellites in the orbit with the PSLV C-40 launch vehicle.
भारत ने मौसम की निगरानी करने वाले कार्टोसैट-2 उपग्रह का सफल प्रक्षेपण किया। इसके साथ 29 अन्य उपग्रहों को भी छोड़ा गया है। भारतीय अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संगठन (इसरो) ने पीएसएलवी सी-40 प्रक्षेपण यान से इन उपग्रहों को सफलतापूर्वक कक्षा में स्थापित किया।
2. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has been honoured with a Doctorate of Literature (D.Litt.) degree by the Calcutta University for her social service.
कलकत्ता विश्वविद्यालय ने पश्चिम बंगाल की मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी को उनकी द्वारा की गयी सामाजिक सेवा के लिए डॉक्टरेट ऑफ लिटरेचर (डी लिट) की मानद उपाधि से सम्मानित किया।

बॉलीवुड अभिनेता शाहरुख खान को स्विट्ज़रलैंड के दावोस में विश्व आर्थिक मंच (डब्ल्यूईएफ) की 48वीं वार्षिक बैठक में 24वें वार्षिक क्रिस्टल पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया जाएगा। उन्हें यह सम्मान भारत में बच्चों और महिलाओं के अधिकारों के समर्थन के लिए दिया जाएगा।

प्रसिद्ध हिंदी लेखक दूधनाथ सिंह का निधन हो गया। वह 81 वर्ष के थे।

9. India has extended a financial assistance of USD 45.27 million for upgrading Kankesanthurai (KKS) Harbour in northern Sri Lanka into a commercial port.

-> Saksham (Sanrakshan Kshamta Mahotsav) is an annual flagship event of Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) under the aegis of Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas
-> It has active involvement of the Oil & Gas PSUs along with other stakeholders like State Governments, for creating focused attention on fuel conservation through people centric activities and to sensitize the masses about the conservation and efficient use of petroleum products leading to better health and environment.

-> Project Saksham is a new indirect tax network of the Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC)
